A contemporary automotive showroom reimagined as more than a place to display cars, it is designed as a destination where architecture becomes part of the experience.

INTERIOR

SCW Showroom reimagines the automotive showroom as more than a place to display cars, it is designed as a destination where architecture becomes part of the experience. The building is defined by a perforated metal façade that filters tropical sunlight throughout the day, creating shifting layers of light, shadow, and depth while giving the showroom its distinctive identity.

Rather than expressing a single monolithic form, the upper floor is conceived as a lightweight pavilion that appears to float above the main volume. Its elevated position frames distant views while reducing the building’s perceived height, creating a calmer relationship with the surrounding streetscape. Deep roof overhangs strengthen the tropical response, while sculptural rain chains replace conventional downpipes as an integrated architectural detail.

Inside, exposed concrete, dark timber, stainless steel, black aluminium, and visible steel beams create a restrained yet welcoming material palette. Honest materials and carefully controlled natural light allow the architecture to quietly complement the vehicles, offering a timeless environment where craftsmanship, performance, and everyday experience come together.
